The Terrace Times started because too much football writing online had stopped being about football and started being about clicks. Match reports were being written from a highlights reel by someone who'd never been near the ground, and stats were copied from site to site without anyone checking if they were right.
We built this around a simple rule: if you're writing about a match, you were either there or you're talking to someone who was. Writers are based in the cities and towns they cover, so a piece about a Tuesday night at a League Two ground comes from someone who actually knows the walk from the station.
Every piece goes through a second read before it's published, stats get checked against the official record, and if we get something wrong, we say so publicly rather than quietly editing it away. No club or sponsor gets a say in what we write, and there's no paywall between a reader and the game they follow.
